Ilona Verley(she/they) brought representation for Two-Spirited Indigenous when they completed on Canada's version of Ru Paul's Drag Race. The 25-year-old, who is Nlaka'pamux, made history as the first Indigenous Two-Spirit queen to compete in the reality series. She developed a love for drag as a means to express herself as a Two-Spirit person. She says competing on Drag Race allowed herself to fully accept her identity as a proud, Indigenous trans woman.
